I was so excited to hear that a new mask from Fresh* would hit the shelves. Fresh’s Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask “is a 5-minute facial designed to combat signs of tired and overstressed skin,” targeting areas that relate to daily stresses such as dullness, roughness, and dryness. It also contains kombu seaweed, red algae, and lotus seeds.
I chose this mask for multiple reasons:
- The campaign ad for the product was shot in Ninh Binh, Vietnam, and I love seeing the images/clips of the lotus fields there. Yes, these videos alone were enough to attract me to the mask.
- I have always been a fan of the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer. A mask version of it? Of course I would give it a try!
- With dry skin, I’m looking for a hydrating mask; With the flakiness that comes from dry skin, I’m looking exfoliating mask; and with dullness from time to time, I’m looking for a brightening mask. This mask does all three in one (hydrates, exfoliates, and brightens)!
- Only 5 minute facial? Enough said.
MY MINI REVIEW
To use the mask, you apply a very generous amount onto the skin (in circular motion) and leave it on for 5 minutes. Then, rinse everything off.
After trying the product out a couple times for the past two weeks, I can say that indeed, it does leave your skin with a radiant and smooth canvas afterwards. By exfoliating, hydrating, and brightening, the mask does seem to “rescue your skin” whenever you need a good pick me up. Also, it’s quick too – only 5 minutes to use. The only con that I could say is that you have to use a lot of it, and it is a bit pricey for mask. However, I’ve heard that red algae and lotus seeds are rare botanicals that are difficult to source, so that’s why the price is quite high.
In any case, this mask gets a two thumbs up from me for how it can quickly target different skincare needs, such as dryness, roughness, and dullness. The multi-benefits of this mask is just lovely. It’s like a genie granting all three wishes in one day. (Just thought I’d through in a random simile in this week’s post, since I’m teaching figurative language soon)
Have you tried the new mask from Fresh? I’d love to hear what you think!
